Don't Be a A Dick Stamp by In-The-Zone Don't Be a A Dick Stamp by In-The-Zone
I might get flamed for this one because it's a sensitive topic. P:

You know how some people say they have an illness so you have to be extra sensitive to them, pity them, or let alone allow them to treat you like crap because they have said illness?

Think again.

There is a difference between being too sick that you're incapable of being aware of hurting people's feelings, and being aware that you are but get away with it by saying your illness nullifies you from being a dick or worse. If you have an illness and can say sorry, at least have the heart to apologize, man. You're not exempt from being an ass. The same for emotional abuse goes the same for physical abuse too.

I actually have lived with people who have illnesses, my parents actually, and one of them has treated me badly over the years. Should I allow that parent to treat me poorly because they have an illness? No. I just tell them they are behaving poorly. That alone should be enough.

It is not okay to treat someone poorly, and say you can go ahead and do that just because you're ill.

This is a big wave of the finger to all those who think it's fine to get stepped on by people who are mentally ill, but they shrug it off just because they don't believe they should ever tell the ill person not to behave inappropriately.

TL;DR:Please don't run around saying you have an illness as a justifiable reason for a 24/7 pass to be an ass. You should apologize just like everyone else. If you refuse to, it doesn't mean you're not responsible for your actions. If you feel hurt by someone, and they pull the "Derp illness I can do whatever I want" Card. Tell them how you felt. Don't hold back.

Errghh.. there are even these kinds of pricks who would even try to self diagnose someone else and get everyone to believe in it and that someone else is seriously fighting away these fuckers like a champ EVERY FUCKING DAY AND FUCKING NIGHT OF THEIR DAMN LIVES. Daily basis actually… yeah.

I understand completely. However, if you are not mentally ill, its very risky and sometimes hurtful to make judgments of this sort...

Not entirely. I already have two mentally ill parents, I don't see how this is a harsh judgement more than you're run of the mill criticisms.

I guess mental illness is different for everyone. It's just that some mentally ill people may not realize they're being rude/hostile/whatever. Plus depression will put someone in a terrible mood.

I think I covered that in the description, but it's been heavily edited a few times. I don't mean people who don't realize it. There's a point where you know they are self aware and don't care.

Thank you for making this.

I'm currently in a situation on tumblr with a person who claims to have a mental disability(autism)she claims ot be autistic but I'm 100% sure she is just using her autism as an exist to be a dick / total dick and harass me / harass other innocent people / be a troll / be a bully.

I called her out on it but like the typical fake autistic person she turned the tables then tried to play victim and make it seem like everyone else was harassing her / bullying her. She tried it on me but it didn't work on me it still doesn't work on me.

I know a fake mental illness when I see one and this person I'm dealing with is clearly using hers as a very bad excuse to be a dick to innocent people on the internet.

Thanks again for making this stamp~C:

I did that a lot, not too long ago. The 'illnesses' and the 'bad mood' ones.
But now I just say "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to ( whatever I said/or did )" , or something like that. And stop right there.

I was diagnosed with Nonverbal Learning Disorder(Similar to Asperger's). And I have a heck of a time with nonverbal cues.I can sort of tell how a person is feeling without them telling me, but I usually have to ask to be sure. I also have trouble telling when something I said might have been rude or mildly hurtful, so again, I ask.  It bothers me that there are people out there who simply don't care enough to at least try to be considerate.

I totally agree with this. I came by across someone here who recently got banned (who I'll keep anonymous) for being such an ass to everyone, and they used their disorder as an excuse. Whenever someone said that they have a problem, that person would say something like "I suffer from insomnia and you don't see me whining, so get over yourself." They also said that they gave up on humanity and hates it when people shove their views down his/her throat, but he/she thought it was okay for them to shove their beliefs down other people's throats. What hit a nerve was when they said that the only reason people do good deeds is "only so that they can feel good about themselves."

Really? I should have told them off. Guess what: though my illness may not be as severe as theirs, at least I try to control myself. I know that having an illness makes it hard for you to control your emotions, but there's a difference between being assertive and simply being an ass.

There's a lot of people who have autism who don't do that shit, and I'm glad they don't. Some autistics are taught in therapy how to socialize appropriately.

I know, I've had several friends over the years who are autistic and don't act like that. Even my little cousin who's autistic and semi-nonverbal wouldn't do that. She's the sweetest person you'd ever meet and she's been working hard to learn how to communicate better.

Unfortunately one person I've been dealing with lately I feel is using it as an excuse and they don't act like someone with it...They claim they have it but I don't really believe it.

Well, :iconask-lumine: Made a death threat to someone over being happy that Johnny Test is being canned, and then her whiteknights told me: "OHH, IT WAS AN UNFAIR BAN" And that "SHE DIDN'T THINK BEFORE SHE SPOKE"
And they claimed she had ADHD, But that's NO excuse at ALL to make a death threat.
If you'd like, I can link it to you.

So It was only fair If I explained What was REALLY going on.
You know what I mean? People must be all like: "BAWW U R A BAD PERSON"
It's only fair to Explain the truth, Nothing more.
I know this isn't the place, But sense they started with me, The truth comes out.

I Understand, but I don't condone name dropping.

Even if you think you're in the right, no other onlooker reading this is going to care besides your closest of kin. "They started it" is never a good excuse. It does more harm than good.

The reason you should refrain from such activity is that it never makes you look good no matter how much you explain your reasons. The internet simply doesn't care.
Onlookers are going to see a dramatic person and well, that's the extent of it. If you don't care what other people think, that's fine and dandy, but you're not really convincing anyone other than yourself and your group of pals.

People who are neutral like me, who didn't ask to be pulled into your internet arguments simply shrug and walk away. There is no changing our opinions. I'm choosing not to be harsh about this as this information is important when dealing with people you don't get along with online. Everyone runs into drama at some point in their lives, online and off. Best course of action? Ignore, as hard as it is.

Name dropping randomly on someone's artwork is not only uncalled for, it's simply stooping to the other's level. If you want to "expose the other person's wrongdoings" (everyone wants to) then keep it to notes or PMs. It's better to keep it off the internet and take your time to get over them after you block them. This way you ultimately look better and more mature, in the end, when you don't say anything you're typically in the clear. The only one left shouting looks like a dick, even if you're the dick. It's just how it works.

Then again, They dropped the name first, Accusing me of being a bad person.
But I still stand by my point: Death threats are Death Threats, No matter what the case.

Again, it doesn't matter that "they started it first".

Death threats are extremely stupid, I don't disagree. But what I'm not okay with is you dropping names in my comments, that is all. Doing so is pulling me into something I want no involvement with. I edited my previous comment to make it easier to understand.

I'm not pulling you into anything AT ALL.
This is just my side of the story, So that people can understand what's going on.
After all, An argument involves Both sides.
Both the Accuser and the person choosing to make a Rebuttal.

I agree with this, there are actual mental disorders that can prevent someone from understanding someone else's emotions... And creating a character with a mental disorder doesn't make them a Mary Sue, au contrair.

However, referring to those OC's who shove a mental disorder into their character just for the pity party. They should really get their real life issues figured out before throwing all of their venting into a character.

That's terrible that people do that. I always feel like the biggest failure in the world when my illness gets the best of me. I always think "wow, I'm such a horrible bitch" and apologize almost excessively. It rarely happens that it gets too out of hand and most in relationships (which is probably why I'm single, lol). But, yeah, I don't even tell them that I have serious issues until after it comes up and by then, no one ever wants to stick it out with you anyway. It's really hard to hide that stuff, you know?

But yeah, it's lame when people use it to be a dick 24/7, you're supposed to try to overcome it.

What if the illness causes you to act like a prick sometimes? Like in bipolar personality disorder, sometimes the sufferer may act narcissistic, but it certainly doesnt mean that the diagnose for the illness is there to cover that fact up, and be as an excuse for being like that... I hope that made some sense.
